Is a will made online legally valid?
Yes, once it is printed and signed correctly. You sign at the end and initial every other page, in front of two witnesses who sign with you at the same time and who do not inherit under the will. Your download includes a step-by-step signing checklist.
Do I pay before I see my will?
No. You answer the questions and see a watermarked preview of your will first. You only pay when you choose to unlock the clean, print-ready version.
Why can't I sign it electronically?
The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 specifically excludes wills from documents that can be signed electronically. Your will only has legal effect once it is printed and signed by hand in front of two qualifying witnesses.
Where should I keep the original?
Store the signed original somewhere safe and tell your executor, or a trusted family member, where to find it. A will that can't be found is treated as if it doesn't exist.
What happens to my personal information?
We use it only to prepare your will and process your order. If you never pay, your answers are deleted after 7 days; after you download, they are deleted 14 days after your last download. See our Privacy Policy.
